National Novel Writing Night Month

2012

National Novel Writing Night Month (NaNoWriNiMo) was a futurist improvement on the popular write-a-novel-in-a-month contest held each November, National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo).

In October 2012, I bought the domain NaNoWriNiMo.org, created Facebook and Gmail accounts, and sent out a public call for novels written in a single night in the month of November. For the design of NaNoWriMo.org and my Facebook profile, I appropriated and slightly modified the html and graphic design elements of NaNoWriMo.org adding “Ni” and “Night” throughout. No submissions were received, so I ended up writing a bunch of Night Novels (NiNos) on my own.

Later, Gauss PDF published most of these NiNos in First Thought Worst Thought.

Below is a conversation on Facebook in which a writer tagged my Facebook account while working on that other novel writing contest in November.
